Where Have The Years Gone?

Tomorrow Lexi will celebrate her 5th birthday. I have been thinking back to the day she joined our little family. I just couldn't wait to meet my little girl and my arms literally ached wanting to hold her. As I have come to know, Lexi does things on her schedule and her birth was no different! She was a week over due and I truly believe that had the doctor not taken pity on me and started me, she would have been at least another week after that. I remember like it was yesterday (which it seems like it was) how she grew that last week in my belly. I swear she put one 2 lbs. that week. Lexi was a great baby and didn't hardly cry at all. She now makes up for those infant days by crying a lot. Hey, she is a girl! When I looked at her she melted my heart and still melts my heart daily.


Lexi 6 Days Old

Lexi is such a thoughtful little girl. One of my favorite stories of her comes from her nursery days in church. She has always been very social and one day a little girl in her nursery class was having a very hard time. This little girl was sitting on her daddy's lap and crying. Lexi noticed her and walked up to her and said, "It's okay sweetheart, it will be alright." The little girl's dad later told Brad that day was the first time he had been able to leave his little girl in nursery all by herself. I hope Lexi never loses her compassion for others. I hope she will always reach out to those little girls afraid to leave their daddy's lap.


Lexi 1 Year Old

One of my favorite things about Lexi is how much she loves to cuddle. She has always been my little cuddle bug and rarely goes a day without her cuddle time. Each night when she gets tucked into bed she'll say, "Will you cuddle with me?". Who could resist that? She is such an affectionate little girl and I love it! I love that she tells me each day that she loves me. That means to me more than words can describe.


Lexi 2 Years

Lexi's favorite thing to do these days is play with her webkinz dog on the computer. She waits all morning for her dad to come home for lunch so they can play webkinz games. She loves all the time she can get with her daddy. I love to see their relationship grow and the fun they have together is one of my favorite sounds.


Lexi 3 Years

Over the past year I have seen my baby girl grow into a little girl. Her interests have changed so much. She has moved from Disney Princesses to Hannah Montana. She no longer wears just anything I put on her, but will tell me when she does or does not like something. She helps me take care of her little brother and even helps with the chores around the house. She is really good at making her bed and looks forward to getting her allowance each week.


Lexi 4 Years

Tomorrow my little girl will wake up a five year old and I really don't know where the time has gone. I think about how fast she got to this point and hope that the next five years will go a little slower. It won't. So for now I will enjoy my days with her and love my sweet little Lexi.
