There are still nice people in the world.
With the busy week that we have had I hadn't had the time to get a Father's Day gift for Brad. I woke up yesterday morning and thought, "Wow, I can actually take things a little bit slower today." Then it hit me, you need to get Father's Day taken care of. I already knew what we were doing for my Dad and Brad's Dad, so I just needed to pick it up. I had an idea for Brad, but wanted to get the best deal so I started shopping around. I went to three stores and then thought I had better go to Wal-Mart. Those of you who don't already know, I HATE, HATE, HATE Wal-Mart. The minute I walk through their doors I just want to leave. However, I did find a great deal on a new BBQ for Brad. Our current BBQ has been great, but it's days are numbered. Now let me back track a little bit. Before I left the house I completely emptied out my trunk in hopes that whatever I purchased would fit. Having my kids with me I politely asked a worker at Wal-Mart if someone could help me get the box out to my car. He kind of acted a little put out, but did find someone. (I also HATE bad customer service. If it is your job, you own it and do it well!) After a few minutes two nice men came to help me out. We got everything paid for and headed out to the car. The box was seriously was only a half inch (at most) to tall to fit in my trunk. We tried a few different angles, it was not going to fit. I then thanked the gentlemen for their help and called my brother-in-law, Dave. He was so nice and said he would be happy to come and bail me out. With the huge box sitting on the ground behind my car I opened a please be good candy bribe and we began our wait. Not two minutes into our wait and very nice man with his little boy pulled over to us and asked if they could help. He told me he would be happy to put the BBQ in his trunk and follow me home. Before you think, he was just after a free BBQ, it was not like that at all. He was a very nice man. I explained that I had help on the way and thanked him for his kind offer. Then a couple of minutes later another nice man asked if he could help. Again I said thanks, but it was okay. I was thinking what nice people there are in this community and then another person offered to help. By the time Dave arrived I was in the best mood. I was literally thanking my Heavenly Father for surrounding me with good people. Over the past few months I have noticed more and more how great the people are in our state. Not that I didn't think it before, but it has just been so obvious to me lately. In April when we went to California I was so used to people being understanding of children and the sometimes awkwardness of getting them from point A to point B, that it just blew me away at how rude some people can be. It really hit me then and there that here in Utah, we are understanding when a child is throwing a fit and you just have to let them get it our of their system. Rarely do you encounter someone who is rude or annoyed by it. And most of all if you are struggling to get something into your car, or a door opened, someone always offers to help. So to all my friends, neighbors, and kind strangers, "THANK YOU!" I really appreciate your kindness and your example to my family. I will always do my best to pass it forward.

It is because you are a nice person......Karma! (those things never happent to me :))
I love moments like those. It is nice to know that there are nice people out there...and especially here in Utah, because I agree..you sometimes get out of the state and get people looking at you like you were crazy for ever having more than one child....and at such a young age!! If only everyone could be so kind!! I hope Brad loved the new BBQ!!! You are nice..Greg practically got nothing this year!!
