{More Canning}

Like I promised in my last post, I spent the day with my Mom and Loni canning. We had so much fun. I love my family and spending time with them is my favorite thing in the world. I feel very fortunate to have a close family on both my side and Brad's. The absolute truth is, we would rather spend time with our family then with anyone else. If I can raise my kids to always remember that family comes first, then I will feel like I was a success as a mother.

Now back to our canning day. We got up early and headed to the farmers market at 8:00 am. After that we made a quick trip to Maceys for a few other supplies and then came to my house to begin our 8 hours of canning. We had two burners on my stove going and three burners on my father-in-laws camp stove. We made three types of jam, peach, raspberry and raspberry-peach. So yummy! We made more salsa. This was Loni's mother-in-laws, Audra's recipe. IT IS AWESOME!!! So much better than the first batch that a made. If you want the recipe, you'll have to talk to Loni to get it. Seriously, Audra is an amazing cook! She is so sweet and was available all day long if we had any questions. Thanks Audra! The last thing we did was bottle some peaches. I see peach cobbler in our future this winter. It took us eight hours to complete our canning, but it was eight hours of pure fun. Thanks gals for the great day. I look forward to doing the beets later this week. I love you gals!

Reading your last post on canning got me going. I made salsa on Saturday with my hubby and it was really fun and so easy. So thanks for the inspiration!
