Little Miss Sensitive
My Lexi Lou, she never seizes to amaze me. I really have to be careful about the shows that she watches. Today she went into the family room and turned on the TV to watch a movie, when I heard her yell, "Mom, come see the cute baby." I came downstairs a couple of minutes later and there on the TV was a mom holding a baby, crying. I thought, "Oh no, here we go." I looked over at Lexi and she has tears welling up. She turns to me and said, "Why is that Mommy crying?" I said she was just happy to have her baby. Then I watch for a few seconds and realize that I couldn't be more wrong. Then of course tears start welling up in my eyes. I really tried not to let Lexi see that I was crying too. (I can't imagine where she gets her emotions.) Lexi walks over to me and really starts sobbing. Then she starts to ask more questions, so I try to explain that the mommy was crying because she couldn't take care of her baby and was giving him to a loving family that could. I have to say that I have 100% respect for those mothers that do such a selfless act as give their babies up for adoption. They are so brave. I have friends that have adopted children and they are the best parents that I know. I have to admit that I need to be more like them. So kudos to you guys. Anyway, I'm getting off track. Lexi wears her heart on her sleeve. We recently rented Stewart Little and she sobbed, I mean she was totally heartbroken when Stewart's fake biological parents showed up to take Stewart away. She just couldn't understand why the Little's just let him go. It was so sweet how concerned she was about this little rodent. As I type a hundred more stories like these come to mind, but there is not enough hours in the day to tell them all. I love that Lexi has so much concern for others. I am so proud of her when I see her trying to comfort another child. It makes me wonder what profession she will be in as an adult. I guess only time will tell. For now I'm just going to enjoy my sweet little girl.

Oh, that's is so cute. What a sweetheart. I also love it when my girls are concerned about others. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right.
Sounds like Lexi is the kind of kid we need more of. Someone who will sympothize and emathize (sp?) In this generation of selfish kids who are only concerned with "What's in it for me" it is so refreshing to see those kids who genuinly have others feelings and interests at heart. Way to go mom...for raising such a sweetheat.
