Fun in the Warm California Sun

We had so much fun in California! Our kids were awesome! They did not complain once and we had no crying practically the entire trip. Let me start at the beginning. We got up early on Sunday morning and headed to the airport. All the kids knew was that we were going on an airplane ride. Lexi was hilarious on the take off. We hit turbulence right at the beginning of the flight and Lexi sat in her seat a said "Wee, this is fun!" over and over again. You could hear people laughing five rows in front and five rows behind us. We receive so many comments from other passengers about how much they enjoyed listening to her comments. They loved her! Rowen was also very good on both flights. He didn't like the take off too much, but he just squeezed his mom and remained his usual easy going self. I seriously think I have awesome little travelers. They did great! (It makes me want to start traveling more, now that I know how well they did.)

Once we landed and checked into the hotel (thank heavens it was not Herb's :)) we headed over to the most magical place on earth. We then told Lexi and Rowen what their surprise was, and Lexi just went "Oh, really". Talk about a let down for Mom and Dad. In her defence she was tired. Her excitement level picked up when she saw Belle as we walked onto Disney Main Street. The first ride we went on was the jungle cruise and then on to the Pirate's of the Caribbean. Arrr! Rowen's new favorite word. It is so cute. He just kept saying it to everyone. Anyway, Lexi was not sure about the ride at first and said it scared her, but she got over it. We went on the ride four times as per Lexi's request. Rowen really liked the ride. He went ooohhh at every turn. Lexi went on almost every single ride. Many of them twice, once with Mom and then with Dad. She even went on the Tower of Terror (AWESOME RIDE!!!) and she did it twice. She loved it, I guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Brad and I both love the scary rides. Hey, there is excitement in wondering if the ride will malfunction and kill you. It's the closest thing to living on the edge that I get these days.

In the middle of our trip we went to Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. It was seriously the best meal we had. The kids loved it because so many of the characters came to our table to chat and take pictures. We loved it because the food was soooooo great. It was so much fun. I highly recommend it. It is a little pricey, but well worth it. If you are planning a trip, make your reservations now. It is a busy place. Go for it, you're on vacation. Rowen loved the characters so much. He would see them and just start giggling and freaking out trying to get to them. He was not afraid of them one little bit. After all they are just big stuffed animals. The only character that he acted funny around was Peter Pan. He was a normal person in costume and Rowen just looked at him like he was a weirdo. It was funny.

Well we took lots of pictures so I've put together a slide show for everyone. Enjoy!
