Family Home Evening

Tonight for FHE we had a lesson on Tithing. Each week we give Lexi a small allowance if she is a good helper throughout the week. We give her allowance to her in coins so that she can see the tenth that goes to the Lord for tithing. She then gets to fill out a tithing receipt and take the envelope to the Bishop. Tonight we learned that tithing helps to build temples, buy church supplies (like the crayons that she uses in Primary) and it pays for the light and heat at the church. We also learned that paying tithing is a commandment and we will be blessed if pay our tithing. We have such a strong testimony of tithing and we want our children to know that if you always pay your tithing the Lord will provide you with the things (both spiritual and temporal) that we need. Lexi colored a cute picture for us to post so that others can see what she learned. Now it's time for our favorite part of the night...goodies!

That is such a good idea! I'm always stressing over what to do for family night. You never cease to amaze me.

What a good idea for a F.H.E. I think if the kids know where their money is going and how it helps the church they are more willing to part with it. Thanks for the idea for next Monday :-)
