Ali's Dynamic Dance Showcase

Lexi takes dance from Ali's Dynamic Dance in Mapleton and last week she had her first dance showcase. Ali does the showcase to give the girls a chance to get familiar with performing in front of a crowd. Lexi had a great time and did a really good job with both of her dances. She loved, loved, loved getting to wear make-up and didn't even bat an eye at being up in front of a crowd (something she did NOT get from her mother). She was her usual giggly self and really had fun with it. The pictures that I took weren't the greatest, it's hard to get a good motion shot and I am no photographer. But we did get some fun video. The best part of the evening was after Lexi was done dancing. Ali had the girls sit on the bleachers behind where the other dance teams were performing and Lexi was just dancing her heart out trying to do everything that the older girls were doing in their dances. I have to say she did a really good job keeping up with them. I am no dancer, but I think that Lexi really enjoys herself and maybe she will be lucky enough NOT have my lack of coordination. I've said it a hundred times, but watching her dance just shows me how much she has grown up. She is so much fun. I just want Lexi to grow up with fun memories of her childhood. This will definitely be one of those memories. Thanks to Ali for being such a great dance teacher. Lexi loves Ali so much and I love that she is so kind with the girls. She is a great dance teacher and I am thrilled that we were lucky enough to find her.

Lexi's favorite dance was the "Chicken Dance". She loves when it gets to the part where you have to go really fast. She was seriously giggling the entire time in anticipation of the fast part. She is so funny. When she was done she just wiped her brow and was smiling from ear to ear. It was hilarious!

Here she is waiting to start the "Mom, I'm a big kid now" dance. I've tried to get her to do this dance for me at home, but Lexi would never do it for me. I was beginning to wonder if she would do it in front of all those people in the crowd, but she did it and didn't skip a step. It was fun to see what she has been learning.

Her dance recital is on May 9th. I can't wait to see her in the little dance costume that Ali has for them. She will love getting all dressed up. She is such a girl. I'll post pictures, I promise!

How cute! That is so much fun. We have been wanting to get Addy into dance lessons. I think we'll start this summer. Good for Lexi for being so brave! Also, I've seen you dance - you're right, she's lucky she didn't get your dance genes! haha :)
